no only that, but remember the 1st Amendment only applies to the government. I remember a few years back, Sheryl Crow had a song where this dude goes to Wal-mart and buys a gun and then starts shooting people. Understandably so, Wal-Mart decided not to sell her record.
Well, the double-digits over at Q-102 decided to run some promo in which they'd mail all these copies of the 1st Amendment to various Wal-Mart stores, and the callers were all "right-on, man." And I remember sitting there wishing someone would hit me in the head with a sledge, because I realized then and there how hopeless it was. Wal-Mart had every right to sell that record, and it had absolutely zero to do with Free Speech concerns. So I agree with the booksellers- why risk liability?
Now, if a public library pulls it, that's a different story.
